If you are looking for a two-bedroom apartment for rent, you
may not know what to expect. How is a normal two-bedroom apartment for rent
configured? What are the common layouts? There are many questions to be asked
to make sure you are not getting a bad deal.
By now, you may have noticed that the floor plan of a
two-bedroom apartment for rent come in three distinct varieties. Here is our
guide to the basic floor plans of a two-bedroom apartment for rent.
One Master Bedroom, One-Bedroom, Two-Bathroom
A one master bedroom, one-bedroom, two-bathroom plan
provides just that. There will be a master bedroom with an en suite bathroom, a
smaller bedroom, and another bathroom in the hallway. This plan is ideal if you
are raising a single child.
This plan is also the second-most expensive floor plan. This
is because not all bathrooms are en suite, you have a master bedroom, and a
bathroom in the hallway. If you are raising a single child, you and your spouse
will occupy the master bedroom, while your child will occupy the other bedroom.
We do not recommend this if you want to move in with a
roommate. The master bedroom will have to be rotated between the two of you for
the sake of fairness and equity, and this will lead to logistical nightmares
every so often.
Two-Bedroom, Two-Bathroom
A two-bedroom, two-bathroom floor plan is where there is no
master bedroom. Both bedrooms have en suite bathrooms. This plan is ideal if
you are going to move in with a roommate.
This plan is also the third-most expensive floor plan. This
is because, while the bathrooms are en suite, you do not have a master bedroom.
This makes it convenient for both roommates because they will have their own
space with their own bathroom.
This arrangement can also work if you have a child and need
to save money. The parents would take one bedroom, and the child would take the
other. There will be no logistical nightmares.
Two-Bedroom, One-Bathroom
A two-bedroom, one-bathroom floor plan is where there is no
master bedroom. The bathrooms are also not en suite. This plan is ideal if you
going to move in with a roommate.
This plan is also the least expensive floor plan. This is
because there is no master bedroom, and no en suite bedroom. You will have to
go in the hallway to find the bathroom. This is slightly inconvenient because
both roommates will be sharing one bathroom, and each will have to clean it.
We do not recommend this floor plan for raising a child. The
fact that there is one bathroom can lead to logistical nightmares and even some
accidents before your child is potty-trained.
